A Happiness Jar – Week 33
Hey everyone! How was your week? We were pretty busy around here, but it was with a lot of fun plans. I will say that I am really looking forward to this upcoming weekend and am ready for some time to relax at home with Chris.
With that being said, here are five of the things that made me the happiest this week:
1. Making (and eating) a zucchini lasagna for dinner.
It sure wasn’t pretty so there was no way on earth I was taking a picture of it, but I followed this recipe I found on Pinterest to make for dinner for Chris and I one night and it turned out fantastic. I have been in kind of a rut with cooking lately, and I wanted something delicious yet at least semi-healthy, too. I had made this lasagna before, but don’t remember it turning out as good as it did this time. Chris and I both loved it and had enough for leftovers for lunch the next day as well.
2. Having a lunch date with my friend Clare.
Back when we got married in October, we ordered tons and tons of muffins for parting gifts for our gifts from this adorable little bakery that my parents used to go to back when they were first married. Since discovering it with my mom last summer, I have gone back there a handful of times to either just get muffins or to sit down and have lunch, and my good friend Clare and I went there for lunch this week. It is just such a cute atmosphere and they have delicious food, and it was a great break in the middle of the week.
3. A game night with some of our friends.
We did the most ironic thing on Wednesday night and went to the gym and then ordered pizza (something we do more often than we admit….). Our friends (who are also married) go to the same gym as we do, so we all went to the gym together and then went back to hang out at their house for the night and order pizza for dinner and play card games. We had so much fun and were absolutely wild on a Tuesday night and stayed out until like 10pm 😉
4. Taking barre, spin, and yoga classes.
I know I talk about these classes a lot, but I have been loving the workout routine I am in lately. Putting these three classes on my calendar weekly commits me to them and gives me an exercise class to look forward to. I also so enjoy not having to think about what I am going to do. I spent so long being a personal trainer and doing nothing except making up workouts, so it is such a nice break to just have someone else take care of it for me.
5. Watching The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Oh man. I know I am a little late to the party with this one, but I wasn’t feeling well on Sunday night so Chris and I watched this movie and it was INSANE in the best way! I cannot believe I never saw it when it first came out, and I am even more surprised that I have never read the books. They are absolutely now on my list to read soon.
Although we don’t have too much going on this weekend, we are heading to my aunt’s house to see my grandma who is in town for the afternoon on Saturday which I am really looking forward to. Other than that, we have nothing on the calendar and I love it.
Have a great weekend. 🙂
